Robert Selinger enjoys a successful career as a multifaceted performer-researcher.

As a musician, he can be heard on a variety of keyboard instruments and with many different ensemblesAs an educator, he teaches a full range of theoretical subjects as well as basso continuo and chamber music to students at the Mozarteum University in SalzburgAs a researcherhe brings methodological diversity, innovative approaches and presentational eloquence to his study of performance practice of the 15th to 19th centuriesHe is the organist of the Kreuzkirche Schwabing in Munich and artistic director of Siderea Musica.

Masterclass

Together with Prof. Mayumi Hirasaki, Robert Selinger was a guest at the Wolfgang Sawallisch Foundation in Grassau. From February 14 to 18 he worked intensively with 8 participants on repertoire for baroque violin around J. S. Bach. The successfully started cooperation is to be continued in the coming years.

New Appointment

The church council of the parish of Verden an der Aller and the regional church office of Hanover have appointed Robert Selinger to the position of musical director and organist at Verden Cathedral starting on 1 July 2022. Duties of the office include directing the cathedral choir, performing on the cathedral’s two large organs (including the 1916 Furtwängler&Hammer organ, a notable historical instrument), managing the summer concert series and overseeing all church music in the district.

World Premiere

On 3 October 2021, Robert Selinger together with Johanna Bartz (traverso) and Charlotte Nachtsheim (gothic harp and voice) will perform at the Salzburg Festival of New and Early Music as the ensemble Siderea Musica. The program includes works from the Buxheim Organ Book as well as a world premiere by the young composer Alexander Bauer, whose work „the abandoned one“ is a fascinating homage to Guillaume Dufay.
